West Indies have much to prove as the action now shifts to white-ball cricket. They have lost the last eight ODIs against India and struggled during the recent ICC World Cup Qualifiers. Indians, on the other hand, would look to do well in this series as they prepare the team for the ICC World Cup. It remains to be seen if the West Indies can pull off a surprise and take an early lead in the series.  

West Indies Preview      

Shai Hope and his men have two challenges in this game. First, they must put behind the shocking performance in the ICC World Cup Qualifier, and second, end their 8-match losing streak against India. They have roped several young players into the side with an eye on the future. The Indians won't let them have it easy in this game, and Hope would want a determined effort from his players.  

Batting has been a weak area for the team, and they need a strong show from Brandon King and Kyle Mayers at the top. Shai Hope's role at No. 3 will be crucial, and he must rotate the strike with Rovman Powell and Shimron Hetmyer and let them do the big-hitting. Alick Athanaze has shown sparks and will look to do well in the finisher's role with Romario Shephard.  

The Indians will put their bowlers under pressure in this game. Alzarri Joseph has been consistent, and he must bowl good lines with Oshane Thomas and put the Indians on the back foot. Middle overs will be crucial for the team as it has been their problem area. They will need good spells from Jayden Seals and Yannic Cariah. Mayers and Shephard must fill in the role of a fifth bowler well for them to win.

Rohit Sharma's side played by the book during the Test Matches. Weather gods denied them a clean sweep in the series. However, the Indian skipper would look to put all that behind them and focus on the ODI series. They have a good record against the West Indies, and their batsmen are in good form. Sharma shall like his players to stick to the basics and take the lead in the series by winning this game.

Rohit Sharma will look to lead from the front and do well with his new opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top. Kohli looks in good form, and he will need to anchor the innings in the middle order with Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav. Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja add depth to this line-up, and they would like to create fireworks towards the end.  

Mohammad Siraj and Umran Malik will aim for early breakthroughs. Both these bowlers have pace and will look to rattle the West Indies top order that has struggled for form. The conditions will favor Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal, and they will look to put the hosts under pressure. Pandya must do well as the fifth bowler of the team.

We expect overcast conditions during the game, which will assist the bowlers. This wicket can surprise batters with its slowness and uneven bounce. Batsmen who spend time at the crease and choose their strokes have done well. A score of 280 runs will be a fighting total on this surface.

There hasn't been much positive to talk about West Indies cricket in the last few months. They have struggled against the top teams and have won only a few games here and there. Their batsmen must take the challenge head-on for the side to win. Indians have all bases covered with a strong batting line-up in good form. All cricket betting sites count Indians as favorites, which is right in our opinion.
