Indicated probability = ( 1 / decimal odds ) * 100

( 1 / 1.60 ) * 100 = 62.5%

• If the betting odds for India and England in a head-to-head market are 1.83 and 1.83 or 1.90 and 1.90 each, there is no clear favourite for the bookmaker.
• However, in case the odds are 1.70 and 2.10 for India and England respectively, India has a slight edge going into the match.

To find how close to being a favourite a team is, set ‘2.00’ as a baseline

The farther the odds from this baseline, the clearer the picture gets. A team valued at 2.50 is clearly not in a strong position to win the match as compared to a team priced at 1.60.
