The Mumbai Indians will search for their first win as they take on the Chennai Super Kings in the 12th game of the Indian Premier League at home. The 5-time champion started with a loss, and their bowling was torn apart by the RCB. They must come out of this and play positive cricket. Chennai Super Kings come here with a win against the Lucknow Super Giants. Their batting line-up is already on top gear, and the side will expect the bowling attack to complement it. Rohit Sharma's side went down by 8 wickets in their first game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was the 11th consecutive loss in the season opener for IPL's most successful franchise. Sharma and Co. would like to put it behind and deliver a better performance in this game. 

Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma missed out in the last game, and a good start from them is vital for the team's success. Suryakumar Yadav is the most important player in the middle order and must do well alongside Tilak Varma and Cameroon Green. Varma's electrifying knock in the last game is a confidence booster. Nehal Wadhera and Tim David add depth to the batting line-up. 

The bowlers must regain their confidence after RCB batsmen put them through the cleaners in the last game. Jason Behrendroff and Arshad Khan need to bowl tight spells to put CSK on the mat. Jofra Archer must use his pace to stop batters from running away with the game. Green and Piyush Chawla will have to do well in the supporting role.

After a poor start in the first game, where they went down against the defending champions Gujarat Titans, MS Dhoni's side made a strong comeback in their first home game this season. It was a clinical performance, and the side put runs on the board and won by 12 runs. Dhoni would like to ride this momentum and earn the first away win for this year against Mumbai. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad has made 149 runs in two games and will look to deliver a positive start with Devon Conway, who is in good form. Shivam Dube has done well at No. 3 and will look to add runs with the experienced Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes, who are excellent hitters. Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhoni, and Mitchell Santner add to the batting depth and strengthen it.  

The Chennai bowlers must rise to the occasion, as we have seen sub-par performances in two games where they have conceded almost 10 runs an over. Stokes and Deepak Chahar must set the stage with early wickets. Moeen Ali looks in good shape, and he must check the flow of runs in the middle order with Mitchell Santner, Jadeja, and Tushar Deshpande.

PITCH AND WEATHER CONDITIONS     

We expect a warm and humid evening in Mumbai. In recent games, we have seen a flat wicket where batsmen have made lots of runs. The ball comes to the bat nicely, allowing them to play their strokes easily. There is little margin of error for the bowler fast bowlers. The side that bats first will eye over 180 runs to feel safe.

Mumbai Indians made a false start, and their lack of depth in the bowling department came to haunt them. The bowling attack lacks variety, challenging the team against CSK's batting depth. The Chennai Super Kings have momentum and a top-order in excellent form. The two sides have shared a close rivalry in the past, but our money will be on CSK to win this game.
